New Brilliant Peel

Brilliant Peel is a new non-toxic Triphenylmethane dye which selectively stains the ILM to aid peeling during surgery to repair macula holes.
Unlike the use of ICG (Cyanine) dyes, Brilliant Peel is licensed for its intended use and is ‘ready to use’ at a stable concentration. However like ICG it is ILM selective.
Brilliant Peel is manufactured by Fluoron in Germany, within the same stringent manufacturing standards as the other Fluoron products that you will be familiar with, such as:
F-Decalin
Densiron 68
Soon Altomed will also be launching the new ErgoLine and 23G ranges of vitreo retinal forceps and scissors from Geuder Germany.
To receive a free sample of Brilliant Peel, please contact customer services.
Essential skills training

A course in the principals of Oculo Plastic Surgery recently
took place in at the Oxford University Anatomy Rooms. The organiser, ophthalmologist Tom Kersey, approached Altomed for sponsorship. We were happy to be able to supply instruments
free of charge for use during the training wetlabs.
Such courses may become important and frequent events, as pressure on time and resources in hospital eye departents means that trainee ophthalmologists may find it difficult to aquire honed skills in sub-specialist areas during normal working time
Altomed donate OPTYSE in Tanzania

Moin Mohamed, an ophthalmologist at St. Thomas' Hospital, recently visited the Muhimbili University Hospital primary care outreach clinic in Tanzania to strengthen links between the two institutions.
Whilst there, Moin presented 2 OPTYSE ophthalmoscopes donated by Altomed.
The instruments were hugely appreciated by this under resourced clinic.
