Eye Camp in Ghana
During the summer 6 eye surgeons and 8 nurses flew to Ghana from the UK. They were there to participate in the ongoing sight saving project ‘Touch of Light’. During the two week eye camp, which was based at the Volta regional hospital at Ho, 3677 patients were seen, 202 cataract operations were performed and training was given to local doctors and nurses. £25,000 of specialist eye care equipment was left and donated.
